Hi, I'm Desire'! 👋🏾
I'm a lifelong reader, book reviewer, and the founder of SMUT Mobile—a community-driven mobile bookstore created to Spread Melanated Urban Text through stories, culture, and connection.
What started as a love for books has grown into a mission to help readers discover stories that make them laugh, cry, heal, and fall in love while celebrating the incredible voices of Black authors.
Whether it's an emotional romance, a page-turning psychological thriller, an inspiring self-growth book, or a hidden indie gem, I believe everyone deserves to find a story that feels like it was written just for them.
Our Story
SMUT Mobile was born from a simple idea:
Books should be accessible, unforgettable, and celebrated.
I wanted to create more than an online bookstore.
I wanted to create an experience.
A place where readers could discover their next favorite book through curated recommendations, Blind Book Dates, bookish gifts, and genuine community.
The vision doesn't stop online.
One day, SMUT Mobile will hit the road as a fully mobile bookstore—bringing books, conversations, and community directly to neighborhoods, festivals, schools, and events.
